Manx Literature, Celtic writings of the inhabitants of the Isle of Man. It consists mainly of ballads and Christmas carols. Translations of religious works from English to Manx are also common. The earliest of these is the Manx version (1610) of the English Book of Common Prayer; the Bible was translated in the 18th century.
