Leonard Bernstein Conducting

Leonard Bernstein Conducting
Leonard Bernstein was a 20th-century American conductor and composer who wrote symphonic music as well as Broadway shows. In 1958 he became the first native-born American musical director of the New York Philharmonic, which he is conducting in this picture taken in 1977. Bernstein was known as a charismatic and ardent conductor, and his interpretations of other composers’ music were considered brilliant.
