Nootka Plank House

Nootka Plank House
Like most Northwest Coast peoples, the Nootka lived in large, multifamily plank houses. The houses had frames of large logs covered with broad planks to keep out the frequent rains. Plank houses had communal areas for socializing, and each family had its own space for sleeping and storage along the walls.
